The author and illustrator Kate Sheehy visited 1st Class during Children’s Book Festival Week.
She read her new story “Two Many Cats”, and also showed the children how to draw the main characters from the story.
Sleigh Ride Stem Challenge
1st Class read the story ‘Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Sleigh’. They were given the challenge of creating a sleigh for the pigeon, and to test it on a ramp, using blocks and books. After creating their sleighs and ramps, they tested them with three different heights, and measured the distance their sleighs travelled.
The children had lots of fun during this activity. They showed wonderful thinking and problem-solving skills.
