5th & 6th class had the privilege of taking part in a Monaghan Co Council initiative to give local children a voice in planning for a new playpark in the development plans for Rossmore Forest Park.

We were visited by the landscape architects working on the project and, tying the experience in with our Geography work, we learned about the work of a landscape architect and planning considerations for a rural beauty spot like Rossmore Park. We selected words to describe what we would like to be able to do in the new park and gave our ideas for structures that would engage older children in the experience, as well as activities for younger children also. We look forward to seeing the new plans being put in place in reality and seeing the results of our input.
