In September we tried out a new way to communicate our learning in History - making a movie!  Each group was set one aspect of the story of how a gold salamander found on the Antrim coast tied in to the story of the Spanish Armada.

I was amazed at how creative the children were in each telling their part in all sorts of ways.  We had wee old gentlemen fishing for

treasure,  archaeologists,  battle plans for the Armada, dramas with a marriage proposal from King to Queen, cartoon strips,  reporters and even a weather report which threatened doom for any Spanish galleons returning home around Ireland's shores on that fateful night.  We compiled all the video clips using iMovie and hey presto! We had made a historical documentary/ movie.  The children had great fun and did a fabulous job in communicating their learning to the rest of the class.
