We have been learning all about Water in our Science and Geography lessons.

Over a number of weeks First Class have explored the uses of water, the importance of conserving water, materials that float and sink, the Water Cycle, as well as famous ships and explorers. We ended our block of lessons with a STEM challenge - to make a raft that could hold a teddy bear for at least a minute and keep him dry.

The groups set to work choosing the most suitable materials, designing and constructing their rafts. There were lots of wonderful ideas, and great communication and teamwork skills among the groups. All were very excited to see which raft would float for the longest time, and also how many passengers each raft could take.
