As you are aware we have been directed to set work for pupils over the next two weeks. In light of this I have included a plan of work for 1st Class. Most of the work involves activities that children are very familiar with and so should be straightforward for them to complete. Please see School News & Updates for other suggested activities.

Maths:

Master Your Maths pgs 34-37. Friday Tests pgs 75,76.

Tables: Revise 1+/2+/3+/4+/5+ ( can also ask subtraction Tables for these)

Bible Worksheet: Children can read Story 4 and do the activities based on the story. Also make sure all other activities are completed for previous stories.

Literacy:

Encourage children to read, read, read their own books on a daily basis. Talk about the story and ask questions.

Class Reader: Winchilla Makes Dinner pgs 27-38

Spell Well: pg 52,53 - revision activities.

Handwriting: pgs 35, 36,37.

Book Report: Children have been reading a new book for our Book Day Challenge. They can write a report on their book. This can be done on an A4  page or those who wish can type their report. They can draw a picture of the book, then perhaps write a summary of the plot ; or pick their favourite part ; favourite character etc.

I have also included their blue (15A) writing copy if they wish to write My News or a recount of something they have done.

( There are extra grammar sheets based on adjectives/ compound words for extra work if they are needed).

It is important to check over your child's  to ensure they have fully understood the task/topic.

Children have been learning about Signs of Spring, types and parts of flowers, 3D Shapes, so perhaps when you are out and about get them to talk about some of these in the environment.

The following are a few useful websites:

www.twinkl.ie - offers a huge variety of resources that are class based and are free for parents for one month.

oxfordowl.co.uk - good ebook library with comprehension activities. Resources are free once you create an account.

MrsBrown.art/drive - offering lots of FREE Art lessons.

I appreciate your cooperation at this time and hope you all stay safe and well over the coming weeks.
