Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and are feeling rejuvenated and ready to continue with your learning at home! Again I have presented this week's work as a daily plan but as previously stated, only do what is manageable for you and your situation at home.

I will email you all a summary of important websites and passwords. I have also set up a Symbaloo page which provides quick access to these websites and other activities.  I would encourage children to visit the duolingo website where they can practise their Gaeilge ( it is aimed at children from 2nd Class up but see how they get on with it).

I am also planning on using the SeeSaw app with the class this week. This will allow me to communicate with the children, set activities for them and they can upload their responses, and take pictures of their work etc. All details will be in my email. It is very important that if you have not yet contacted me by email that you do so in order to receive these details.

Maths: Fractions - Looking at half. When we cut/split/share/divide something into two equal parts, each part is called a half 1/2. Both parts must be the same.

Fold a piece of paper in half. Colour the top section. Now open out the paper. One piece out of two is coloured - one half is coloured.

Draw shapes - circle, square, rectangle, triangle etc  (perhaps use objects to trace around). Cut them out and fold them in half. Emphasise that both sides must be exactly the same. Colour half of each shape and label 1/2. Stick these onto a sheet or into a copy.
