Autumn brings a lot of change and this didn't go unnoticed by the Junior Infants!
We loved learning about the busy animals preparing to hibernate, the hard working farmers bringing in the harvest and the busy school caretaker tidying up the fallen leaves! The children went on an Autumn hunt with their parents and brought in bags full of wonderful treasure which gave us plenty to talk about and examine. We used the Autumn items in our mud kitchen area to make blackberry tarts, conker cakes, leaf soup and acorn pies. We opened a fruit and vegetable shop in the Role Play area and sold lots of seasonal fruit and veg. We completed out unit of work on Autumn by enjoying some home made pumpkin soup which went down a treat. Have a look at the fun we had.....
