December was a busy month in the Junior Infant classroom with the children taking on the very important role of Santa's little helpers. After some necessary elf training the children set to work in Santa's workshop.

They designed and made some new toys and made sure they passed the quality check before wrapping them up and packing them on the sleigh.  The children thoroughly enjoyed this unit of work which added some festive fun in the classroom on the run up to Christmas. We enjoyed listening to the story of the very First Christmas and remembered the real reason we celebrate Christmas. We produced our very own nativity in the classroom as part of our Drama lessons, learned songs and celebrated the birth of Jesus with a celebratory sing song!
